About Marcel

    Marcel Mendoza is a singer-songwriter, and actor originally from New Orleans. He moved to Atlanta at the age of five and is of Cajun, Costa Rican, Cuban and Puerto Rican descent. He is a recent graduate of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, College of Performing Arts in Los Angeles where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Performing Arts. At a young age he showed a passion for performing arts and became a rising star in local community theatre. He participated in The American Protégé Vocal Competition and placed first in the musical theatre category for his age group, allowing him the opportunity to perform live at the Winners Recital at Carnegie Hall.

    In 2021 Mendoza guest starred on the Netflix hit show NBC's "Good Girls" portraying the younger version of the lead character, Rio.  He also appeared in the three episodes of the HBO MAX original mini series "DMZ," portraying the role of "Baby Face."  The series directed by acclaimed American filmmaker, Ava Duvernay, was celebrated for its diversity and Mendoza was honored to be part of such a stellar cast.  Most recently Mendoza co-starred in one episode of the final season of NBC's "This is Us" where he appears as a new original character named "Ari".

     In addition to his acting career Mendoza also has a strong passion for music and has experience as a singer/songwriter with a unique voice and style.  At the age of sixteen Mendoza wrote and recorded his first international Pop/EDM song, "Impossible," a collaboration with Portuguese DJ Duo Club Banditz. The song was released by AfterCluv/Universal Musica and was number two on the charts in Portugal for a short period.  This huge success allowed him to perform his original song live in front of thousands of people at the "Sun City Music Festival" in El Paso, Texas. He continues to evolve as as an artist and continues to create songs in English and Spanish. He is currently working on an EP embracing several genres of music including Latin Urbano, R&B and Pop. 

    Since the rise of Mendoza's acting and music career, his following on social media has grown.  He now has around 16, 000 followers on Instagram and 92,000 followers on Facebook.  He enjoys interacting with his fans and posting about travel, music and art. He is planning to launch his own Youtube channel in 2022 to share videos and music with his fanbase. Mendoza currently lives in Los Angeles and Atlanta and is represented by J Pervis Talent Agency and Tassell Talent Group.
